Aqua-Pure AP-DWS1000
The Aqua-Pure AP-DWS1000 Undersink Water filter system filters lead,
sediment, rust, cysts, VOC, and offers MTBE protection. This point of
use filtration system is a convienent alternative to bottled water and
is much less expensive per gallon than bottled water. The APDWS1000
comes with a lead-free faucet, installation hardware, pipe connections
and a built-in monitoring device that shuts off water to remind you to
change the cartridge. APDW80/90 water filter cartridges are included
and should be changed every 6 months.

site as "the choice of professional plumbers". IMO that statement,
with respect to real professional plumbers, casts a shadowof doubt on
them. They are mass assembled from generic parts (that's OK) but with
no consideration for your specific water treatment
requirements."

This is a popular filter and has an established name in the market. It
underperforms against the Aquasana AQ-4000
on two fronts. Namely, removal of contaminants in the water and sheer
cost to run annually.

- Chlorine
- Added to our our supply by government agencies. It is a necessary
service as it kills harmful, even deadly living matter in our water
supply. However, it is advisable to eliminate it right before use.
Chlorine has been linked to several health problems (cardiovascular
illness and cancer) and cosmetic effects (dry skin and hair).
- Lead
- Enters through plumbing. Well-documented risks to health especially
children include brain damage.
- Cysts
- Living organisms in water. Can cause different illnesses and diseases
of varying severity.
- THMs
(trihalomethanes) - form when chlorine combines with living matter.
Linked to cancer.
- VOCs
(volatile organic compounds) - Carbon-containing chemicals that can
